Old-time Hunter S Thompson collaborator Lou Stein staged his version of the crazed trip to Vegas back in the eighties, well before the seminal film was even a glint in Terry Gilliam’s eye. Lou and I teamed up for a revival in 2016. I’ve read every word Thompson wrote and it seemed in 2016 like it was the right time.

With the legendary Ralph Steadman himself overseeing the set design, and exhibiting a new set of prints specifically for the show, I produced a six week run that headlined VAULT Festival. We were also lucky to have Peter Wilms on board for our wrap-around visuals. Peter was the projection expert behind Curtain Call at the Roundhouse, as well as the West End’s Strangers on a Train.

The show was a sellout success and went on to a sellout run at the Pleasance Edinburgh later that year.
